Jonathan Linscott BVM&S MRCVS
Growing up in Masham where his father set up practice in 1970, Jonathan accompanied his father on farm visits and helped him in the surgeries for most of his childhoood. After first obtaining a degree in Zoology from St. Andrews University, Jonathan graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 1999, and from there enjoyed working for two years in mixed practice in Cumbria before returning home. Jonathan continues to enjoy most aspects of mixed practice with a special interest in small animal medicine and surgery, but still relishes the opportunity to get out on farm!
Will Gratwick BVSc MRCVS
Clinical Director - Farm
Will is the clinical director of Yoredale Farm Vets. Originally from Cheshire, he graduated from The University of Liverpool in 2009 and started his career in rural mixed practice in North Wales. He developed an interest in cattle herd health and completed a masters in the subject at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. In 2017 he moved back to the UK and took up the position of practice principal at a farm practice in Kent before joining Yoredale Farm Vets in March 2019. His professional interests include lameness, youngstock health and nutrition. Outside of work he enjoys mountain biking as well as continuing to travel the world as much as possible
John Watkinson BVSc CertCHP MRCVS
Senior Veterinary Surgeon
John was brought up in Leyburn and was closely involved with his father’s practice from an early age. He qualified from Liverpool Vet School in 1984 and after working in various parts of the country returned home in 1988 where he soon after succeeded his father, Jack, in the practice trading as J & JL Watkinson for many years. In 1996 John gained the RCVS Certificate in Cattle Health and Production and since the inception of the Yoredale Vets merged practice, continues to be most involved with the livestock part of the practice. Now his three children are adults, John can often be seen fell walking with wife Nicola and dog Tan, or latterly pretending (badly) to be a pro road biker!
Amy Cockett BVetMed MRCVS
Amy graduated from the Royal veterinary college in 2011, and has worked within the area as a mixed practice vet ever since. At home she lives with her husband and two children, Callie the Collie, Tom and Jerry the rescue guinea pigs, and Hello Dolly the rescue budgie. Amy enjoys her present role as a predominantly small animal vet, and runs acupuncture clinics at our Harmby Road branch.
Philippa Daniel BVM BVS MRCVS
Philippa graduated from Nottingham University and moved down from Northumberland in October 2017. She is interested in all aspects of mixed veterinary practice and particularly enjoys equine medicine and small animal surgery. In her spare time Philippa can be found playing netball, going on cycling adventures or walking her two dogs, Wag and Tipsy.
Daniel Goldstein BVSc MRCVS
Dan is from Sydney, Australia and has been working at the practice since the beginning of 2018. He graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney in 2017. He is passionate about all aspects of farm animal work, with a specific interest in dairy cattle.
Lewys Mayes BVetMed MRCVS
Lewys developed my keen interest in large animals in Gloucestershire, at Hartpury college while studying Bioveterinary Science. Lewys then went on to study Veterinary Medicine at the RVC, London, qualifying in 2018. While at university Lewys chose to focus his later training in large animal studies, giving him an opportunity to attend placements at Utrecht university farm clinic, in the Netherlands, and Torch and Synergy farm health, in the UK. Lewys is proud to be able to use his skills to help the farming community in North Yorkshire. He has a particular interest in beef and sheep medicine but is more than willing to take on any large animal case North Yorkshire throws his way. In his spare time Lewys has a keen interest in classic fords and can often be seen driving around the dales his my 38 year old Ford Fiesta.
